Yes, I also worked at the hospital , not as a chaplain, but as a mental health worker, for a year after college (with BA in psychology) before moving on into ministry as well (M.Div. , Evangelical ministry, missionary, etc). And I did CPE too! at UCLA .

My dad worked with him at t Pine Rest hospital for many years and I also worked at Pine Rest when he was still there,but didn't see him very often . I don't think I ever saw him, but I knew who he was from my dad's job as a Chaplain there for many years...
